Mormon Boy

Our stake did a very fun activity where each ward was asked to make a video based on this year's mutual theme:

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest. - Joshua 1:9

Maybe I am a teensy bit biased because the lead actor is soooo good looking, but I thought our ward's entry was awesome! This was all written, filmed, edited by the youth (OK, in our ward, mostly by one really talented boy).

They had a fun awards night complete with a red carpet entrance, popcorn and candy and watched all the videos from the stake together. There were no less than TWO Office knock offs, and no less than TWO videos that brought tears to my eyes - if anyone knows anything about being strong and courageous these days, it is the young men and women who live in the world today and try to make good choices.

My girls watched it with me and upon completion, both of them replied "cool". I thought it was very "cool" too! Funny, though that you had one Mormon boy, and one mean boy. Great activity idea!

I love his head nod at the end. Good job Nixon. Way to stand up for yourself and your religion!

So great... I am very impressed by these kids' tech savvy. I also couldn't believe how much older some of those kids look and also how many I didn't recognize :-(
What a great activity!!

In response to your question about hockey - yes, I am very glad for the season to be over. Being on squirt and pee wee was way too much. Bradley loved it, but I can tell he's starting to get burned out too. On to baseball! Are your boys going to do SLC hockey again next year or go on the PC team? The program up there seems to be going pretty strong. I think they had 2 squirt teams this year. If you did do PC, we'd see you at the games :-)
